Jama Masjid

                                

         Jama Masjid is a mosque in Ahemdabad, India built in 1424 during the reign of Ahemad shah. Jama masjid is one of the largest masjid in ahemdabad. Jama masjid also known as Jumah mosque. This masjid displays an elegant fusion of  Hindu ,Islamic and Jain architectural. The design carved on the column are suggestive of elements of Hindu temple architecture.

                Jama masjid is built with beautiful yellow sandstone.  The night market near jama masjid is known for its delicious street food. Photographers have a lot of fun clicking jama masjid photo from various angles. Entry to jama masjid is absolutely free. The main prayer hall has over 260 columns supporting the  roof which has 15 domes.

                  

                             

 

     The unique design of the jama masjid includes a central dome which is carved like a flower. There are  a lot of carvings that closly resemble Jain temple.you will also notice an Om symbol in one of the inner windows.
