Dwarkadhish Temple

                                               


                          Dwarkadhish is Hindu temple dedicated to the god Krishna , who is worshiped here by the name Dwarkadhish or 'King of Dwarka'. Dwarkadhish temple also referred to as the Jagat mandir . he temple was enlarged in 15th-16th century. The temple became a part of the char-dham pilgrimage considered sacred by Hindus in India. The temple layout contains a garbhagriha and an antarala. The shrine may be a hive of colors , voices and faith transforming itself into inner silence and sanctity.

                                 


                    There are two entrances to the temple.The main entrance (North entrance) is named "Moksha Dwarka"(Door to Salvation). This south entrance is named "Swarga Dwarka"(Gate to Heaven). Outside this doorway are 56 steps that results in the Gomti river. The temple spire rises to a height of 78 meters and a really large flag with symbols of sun and moon is hoisted thereon. It is conjectured  that this temple location is 2,500 years old where Krishna had built his city and a temple.

                                                       


                                     The devotees are expected to require dip within the Gomti river before proceeding into the temple through the Swarg Dwar. The best time to visit dwarka temple between November and February here. The Dwarkadhish temple is believed to possess been established quite 2500 years ago by Lord Krishna's great grandson , Vajranabh. The ancient temple has been renovates several times.
