Maa Shailputri


                              On the first of day of navratri Shailputri is worshiped. Shail means Himalayas. She is called Shailputri because she was born in the Himalayas.

                                   


                         In the form of parvati she is also known as the wife of lord Shankara. Tauras is her vehicle so she is also known as vasbharudha. she is holding a trishul and lotus in her hand. Shailputri temple as located in Marhiaghat of Varanasi and another one is at Hedavde mahalaxmi in Hedaved village.

Rani Sipri's Mosque

                                                                        Rani sipri's mosque is located in Ahmadabad , Gujarat. This mosque is built in 1514 by Queen sipri , the Hindu wife of Mahmud Begda , a sultan who ruled Gujarat. It is also known as masjid-e-nagina ( jewel of mosque )  because of the intricate jali carvings on its walls. The queen commissioned this mosque in 1514 when her husband executed their son for some misdemeanor. After her death , the queen was buried in this mosque.
