Lakhpat Gurudwara

                           


               Lakhpat Gurudwara sahib is a Gurudwara , a place of worship for Sikhs , located in Lakhpat of Kutch district , Gujarat. Lakhpat Gurudwara also known as Gurudwara pehli patshahi. Gurudwara pehli patshani means  " Gurudwara of the first master ". Guru Nanak on his way to Mecca stayed over in the town during his second(1506-1513) and fourth(1519-1521) missionary journey called Udasis

                                 


                 This Gurudwara have his relics like wooden footware and palkhis as well as manuscript and marketings of two important heads of Udasi sect. Now it is maintained by local sikhs community and Gurudwara Shri Guru Nanak Singh sahib of Gandhidham. In old times , Lakhpat was part of Sind (now in Pakistan), Lakhpat used to be a rich rice growing area and was also a popular port.

                


                 Lakhpat Gurudwara has bagged the UNESCO Asia-pacific Heritage conservation award in the year 2004. The internal and external walls have paintings in line pattern with floral motift around the openings and selected areas of the walls.There are charan padukas (khodave) and palkhis of Shri Guru Nanakji , which are preserved here. During visit to Lakhpat you can eat Langar prasad here and even tourists can stay in this Gurudwara if they wish. 

                


                 The best time to visit Lakhpat sahibji  is on 25th December every year, when all the people from surroundings gather to celebrate the Annual festival at this Gurudwara. In sixteen century it was known as  " Basta Bander ".
