Maa Kushmanda

                                                      

                              On the fourth day of navratri Kushmanda is worshiped. It is believed that maa Durga created is universe when there was darkness on the all sides before the creation of the universe . So she is called Kushmanda and is also called Aadishakti because of the origin of the universe.

                                        


                                    She has eight arms and rides a lion.The seven hands are the wheel , the mece , the bow , the kamandal , the kalash , the arrow and the lotus. It is believe that seeing and worshiping in the form of Kushmanda destroys all the sins of human beings. Visiting and worshiping the Kushmanda swarup of the goddess removes disease and grief and at the same time increases fame and fortune. Ghatampur in Kanpur district has one of the most famous temple of Kushmanda .
