Maa Mahagauri

                                             


                    On the eight day of navratri Mahagauri is worshiped. It is clear from her name that her colour is white. This wear is also white and all the charms are also white. Mahagauri's vehicle is Taurus. They have four arms. The arms have abhaymudra , trisul , damru  and varmudra. It is known that she did penance four thousands of years to get load Shiva as her husband , which cause her to turn black , but then lord Mahadev anointed her with ganga water and made her white again. So that she was known as Mahagauri.

                                            

                     Mahagauri is also associated with goddess  ganga. The description of the glory of the goddess in the scriptures says that all sinsare washed away by the vision of this form. Practicing this goddess brings all the supernatural achievements. Goddess Mahagauri devi temple is situated in Varanasi and in Ludhiana.

Rani Sipri's Mosque

                                                                        Rani sipri's mosque is located in Ahmadabad , Gujarat. This mosque is built in 1514 by Queen sipri , the Hindu wife of Mahmud Begda , a sultan who ruled Gujarat. It is also known as masjid-e-nagina ( jewel of mosque )  because of the intricate jali carvings on its walls. The queen commissioned this mosque in 1514 when her husband executed their son for some misdemeanor. After her death , the queen was buried in this mosque.
